Colored sketches

Random post; these are some colored sketches I did recently for kicks and giggles.

A cartoony take on my “Charles Darwin in Argentina” comic.

A random landscape. Once I started getting a “dawn of time” vibe from it, I couldn’t help but add some dinosaurs in there… my bad.

A piece of fan art inspired by one of my favorite stories ever put on any medium, the Lucasarts adventure game Grim Fandango. It’s funny, that I never really read comics as a kid, but these games pushed me into wanting to draw and tell my own stories. In the end, what I do looks and feels nothing like these games.

Goldfinger for The New Yorker

I was recently hired to do a spot illustration for The New Yorker. I know, stupefying. The illustration was for an upcoming James Bond movie festival here in NYC, and depicted a scene from Goldfinger. Being an old Bond fan, it was quite a bit of fun to do. It came out with the April 23rd issue of The New Yorker, so you can go check for yourself, if you don’t believe me.

I’m also posting the sketches I sent.
